This Privacy Policy explains how ATPL Wingman (“we”, “us”, “our”) processes personal data when you use atplwingman.com and purchase access to the ATPL Wingman digital study library.

1. Who we are

ATPL Wingman operates the ATPL Wingman website and online study library. For privacy-related questions, contact us at support@atplwingman.com.

2. What data we collect

Depending on how you use the service, we may process:

  • Account data — email address and a hashed password you choose after purchase.
  • Access and session data — login session identifiers stored in HTTP-only cookies, device/session metadata needed to enforce one active session per account, and basic security logs.
  • Purchase data — your email, transaction references, subscription status, and plan type. Payment card details are processed by Paddle; we do not receive or store full card numbers.
  • Support communications — information you send when contacting support@atplwingman.com.
  • Technical data — IP address, browser type, and similar data in server logs for security and troubleshooting.

3. How we use your data

We use personal data to:

  • Provide access to purchased content and manage your account.
  • Authenticate sign-in and protect against unauthorised access.
  • Send transactional emails (for example password setup, password reset, and access notices).
  • Process and verify purchases through our payment provider.
  • Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
  • Improve reliability and security of the service.

4. Legal bases (EEA / UK users)

Where GDPR or similar laws apply, we rely on:

  • Contract — to deliver the digital library you purchased.
  • Legitimate interests — security, fraud prevention, and service operation.
  • Legal obligation — where required by tax or consumer law.
  • Consent — where we ask for it explicitly (for example optional marketing, if offered).

5. Payment processing — Paddle

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all orders. Paddle provides customer service inquiries and handles returns for payments made through Paddle Checkout.

When you pay, Paddle processes payment and billing data under its own privacy policy: Paddle Privacy Policy. We receive limited purchase information from Paddle (such as your email, transaction ID, and subscription status) so we can grant access to the library.

6. Email delivery

We use Resend to send transactional emails from our domain (for example account setup and password recovery). Resend processes your email address and message content only to deliver those emails on our behalf.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies (or equivalent session storage) to keep you signed in and to protect your account. We do not use third-party advertising cookies on ATPL Wingman.

8. How long we keep data

  • Account data is kept while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards.
  • Purchase records are retained as required for accounting, tax, and dispute resolution.
  • Security logs are kept for a limited period unless needed for an investigation.

9. Sharing your data

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

  • Paddle — payment processing and buyer support for purchases.
  • Resend — transactional email delivery.
  • Infrastructure providers — hosting and database services that process data on our instructions.
  • Authorities — when required by law.

10. International transfers

Our service providers may process data outside your country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms.

11. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, and to data portability. You may also withdraw consent where processing is consent-based, and lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

12. Children

ATPL Wingman is intended for adults studying for professional pilot licences. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy where permitted by law.
